    Hi friends,

    So I have a blog, and the client wants particular category posts to show up in thier own page. I've gotten that to work, but I need it so that the posts also have the "read more" functionality tagged on to them on the "press" page as well as on the "blog" page.

    I've gotten the read more part so show up on blog posts by using the code below, but would it be possible to apply the same thing to posts posted in a particular category as well??? I'm sort o fon my last legs here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The blog posts use the read more functionality with this code:
    function new_excerpt_more($more) {
    global $post;
    return 'ID) . '"> </br>Read More > ';
    }
    add_filter('excerpt_more', 'new_excerpt_more');

    Now, would it be possible to apply the same to get it to work on posts posted in a particular category??

    Here's the page that works:

    Here's the page I would like to put the "read more" tag on

    The blog posts use the read more functionality with this code:

    that code is for excerpts - if you use the_content() in the template and the 'more-tag' in the post content, this code will have no effect.

    use the_excerpt() http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt

    What? I mean the code I have works to get the "read more" to come up on blog posts and link their individual post... and you say use the_excerpt(), but that's basically what I have now. I read through the link you've posted, but I don't know how that's really relative here. All I want is basically for the Read More to show up on ALL posts even when not coming in through the blog page.

    Are you suggesting that this can be done by using the_content() instead? But reading what you said implies that it wouldn't work.

    Lil help?
