So I want a new page/tab to open when someone clicks on one of the Social Menu icons at the bottom of the website.

    How do I do this?

Currently it just opens on my website’s page and closes it out.

    Thanks!

  • Hi, go into the Appearance->Menus page and click on the Screen Options tab at the top right of the page. Under the ‘Show advanced menu properties’ section, make sure that the Link Target checkbox is checked.

Once that is checked, edit the menu you are using for the social icons. Click the downward pointing arrow for each link to expand the configuration options. Then just check the ‘Open link in a new tab’ checkbox.

    Great, thanks for the help.

I’ve actually disabled most of my footer area so these don’t even pop up any more for me to try and verify this with lol

I am looking to add some social media icons to the header or a footer widget, any suggestions?

Twenty Twenty doesn’t have that functionality built-in, it’s either the social menu in the footer or not.

However, there are several plugins which offer such a widget: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/social+icon+widget/
