    I’m trying to create an automated email for my WP site and mailchimp.
    I want my posts to have a summary but not the entire post post and I’d like an image to show up.
    What I’m doing:

    *|RSSITEMS:|*
    *|RSSITEM:TITLE|*
    *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|*
    *|END:RSSITEMS|*

    I’m running into a few problems:
    I realized that *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|* shows a full post and images but when I use *|RSSITEM:CONTENT|* the featured image is removed.
    Additionally, at the end of my content there is a sentence that says this “The post POST TITLE appeared first on Annie Johnson | Design Love Life.” I don’t want this last sentence.

    Here is a screenshot: https://designlovelife.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/AnnieJohnson-WPtoMailchimp-automatedemail.png

    within the screenshot are both examples of *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|* and *|RSSITEM:CONTENT|* and then what I want to happen.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    If you want only the excerpt/summary to be in the feed, the easiest thing to do is to change that in the WordPress settings. Go Settings > Reading and select summary for “For each post in a feed, include”.

    You can change the last sentence under Settings > Send Images to RSS. Alternatively, if you are manually adding your own “read more” link, you’ll want to remove that sentence completely with this filter:

    add_filter( 'send_images_rss_excerpt_read_more', '__return_empty_string

    );
    `

    You can add that to your theme’s functions.php file or wherever you keep custom code. Make sure you have a backup before changing code, please. Hope that helps!
