Support » Theme: Highwind » How to get rid of the "veil" covering my photos on the sidebar

  • First of all. I am very satisfied using WP Theme Highwind for my Photo-Blog-Projekt. Thank you very much. Well, almost satisfied. One last thing I would like to know, visually speaking – only on my sidebar (not on my footer), I got a problem to show pictures the right way. I am a newbie in WordPress and my english is getting worse, but to summarize it: why my photos look in the sidebar different, looking worse in lightness and contrast? Is it because of the background color in the sidebar, other users mentioned before? How to solve it? Have a look: my Photo-Blog: http://www.99x.bplaced.net.

  • I am going to have a stab at this.

I don’t think the images are deteriorating in a noticeable way. It might just be happening because of the effect of displaying on a white background. I reckon if the whole site was black or dark gray, the images would appear more contrasty.

Now there is a chance that some definition is lost because the actual image is reduced in size a little but I am not convinced that is the issue.

I could be wrong but even if you use firebug to add a black border to the images they tend to pop a little.
