We’re using a theme called Divi by Elegant Themes which includes a built in ‘page builder’ allowing for us to utilize different sidebars throughout the site. Your recipes, by default, use the default sidebar. So, to try and get around that, I tried using your shortcode method but found that the sidebar also displays along with the recipe content.

Now what I have is two sidebars. All I want is the recipe details/content to display. How can we accomplish this?

Hi Simco, thanks for the great question.

Recipe styling in WordPress with Simmer is completely dependent on the way your theme styles CPTs. Divi is a great theme, and the way the recipe “sidebars” are displayed is 100% dependent on the way this theme is coded. Since this is a theme-specific question, you’ll need to reach out to the original developers of the Divi theme to determine the issue.

For example, in the WordPress default twentyfifteen theme, Simmer’s recipe CPT meta is displayed at the top, not in a “sidebar”: http://laralittlefield.pub/recipes/recipe/zucchini-fritters/

Additionally, page builders can present a number of different issues when creating content in WordPress, so please reach out to the page builder developers should you have questions about that feature, too.

Otherwise, feel free to email our support team anytime in the future at hi@simmerwp.com if you’re a member, or have questions about becoming a Simmer member. (https://simmerwp.com/membership/)

    Thank you!
    Lara
