Regarding Google Search Console warning: Field Brand is missing. Is there a way to resolve this problem without installing a brand-plugin?

    Hi @vogelpesto.
I saw that link before. I was in doubt of trying that one as I found no information about a similar code snippet.

Now I’ve added that code snippet. Unfortunately it didn’t work. GSC gave thumbs down.

    Anybody else have another suggestion?

P.S Could it work by adding Brand as an attribute?

    Hi there!

    Thanks for contacting us.

Regarding Google Search Console warning: Field Brand is missing. Is there a way to resolve this problem without installing a brand-plugin?

I understand you want to solve the Google Search Console warning regarding missing Brand field for your product pages.

WooCommerce doesn’t include the brand schema by default and it would need some code customization to achieve this.

We’re unable to provide help with customization under our Support Policy.

P.S Could it work by adding Brand as an attribute?

It wouldn’t simply work by adding brand as an attribute because it would need some additional code customization to add that attribute to the product schema.

An alternative to this is using our extension – WooCommerce Brands

Once you purchase and install the extension – You could add a new brand by going to WP Admin > Products > Brands and then marking all the products with appropriate brands just as you mark the product categories. (Brands can be bulk added/modified from All Products page too.)

This would add the brand to the product schema automatically.

If you want to try our products, please note we have a 30-day refund policy.

If the product doesn’t work the way you need or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here: http://woocommerce.com/refund-policy/

    I hope this helps. 🙂

    Thanks @kaushiksomaiya
I know you sell your plugin and there also other plugins for free. However I try keep my site with a minimum of plugins installed. That’s why I asked for a solution without needing to install a plugin.

I understand that adding a code snippet won’t resolve adding different brands to the products. However, if all products are of the same brand, could that not be solved with a code snippet?

The last days I’ve searched a lot but found no code snippet that is working. I find it a time waste to install a brand-plugin and adding a brand to all products a waste of time just to get rid of a GSC warning.

    Hey @boppar

What you have described with regards to GSC and Brands is not related to the free Storefront theme itself. I’d suggest reading this article for more information related to why the free WooCommerce plugin does not include Brands.

    https://impressive-pages.de/en/2021/12/solution-for-google-search-console-message-missing-field-brand/

As this support forum is only for the free Storefront theme if you have any questions related to the free WooCommerce plugin itself you can post those on this support forum below.

    Thanks @stuartduff

    I’ve read that article already.
The article also has two suggested code snippets. I’ll try them once again.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved as it’s not a Storefront issue.

I just want to add that the code snippet seems to work according to GSC.
