Support » Theme: Intuition » How to get layout promised in preview screenshot

  • Hi, I just installed this theme and want to know how I can get the header the way its shown on the preview screenshot of the theme (full width and high quality and possibly for frontpage as well as other pages).

Also I am curious to know if its at all possible to get 4 columns with feature blocks instead of just 3?

Because I attempted altering this via custom CSS, but it seems whenever 4 features are added, the last one gets added to an entirely new HTML row?

    Thanks in advance,
    Best of regards,
    Trekka

Also – How do I create a child theme for this theme?

    Hello @trekka12,

To make the slider full width please go to Appearance > Customize > Layout > Site Wide Structure > choose Full width and save.
Only Intuition Pro has the option to show the slider on all pages currently, I’m sorry.

The number of columns is also a feature of the Pro.

To create a child theme I recommend: https://wordpress.org/plugins/child-theme-configurator/

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Thank you,
    Mihaela

    Thank you for your reply.
Now if I want to show full posts on blog page instead of excerpts, how do I do this?
I already tried changing read settings but no effect there.

    Hello @trekka12,

This is an option only Intuition Pro has. I am sorry ๐Ÿ™

    Kind regards,

Could you please explain at least which template file handles the default blog page?

Also – what template file is responsible for the “Read more” text for post excerpts? Seems my translations via Loco Translate doesn’t quite work for this.

Trying to use Loco Translate as I mentioned for translation of the post meta information, but it complains of some compatibility issues?

    Hello @trekka12,

The file for the blog posts is: index.php
And for the read more: core/markup.php
I also recommend this plugin to translate those: https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/
Here is how to use it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/

    All the best,

Great, appreciate it! Thanks a lot, I’ll definitely look into it ๐Ÿ™‚

Hm, I tried overriding markup.php in my child theme by copying the original markup.php and replacing read more with what I wanted it to say. But never took, only took when manually replacing the text in the original core markup.php file? This is the second time I’ve tried overriding something and it had no effect, whats the reason for this?

    Hello @trekka12,

Are you trying to change the read more text in markup.php? Not all files can be copied in child themes.
If you are looking to modify that read more text, I highly recommend this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/
Here is how to use it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/
It is very easy to use and will change it without editing the theme’s files.

    All the best,
    Mihaela
