Support » Fixing WordPress » How to get email notifications

  • We have a company that provided a plugin to use for volunteer signups. When the submit button is hit I am not receiving an email confirmation that a person has completed the volunteer application form & the volunteer is not receiving email confirmation either.
I am told that email confirmations come from the setting in the back end of wordpress. I have an email address entered in settings-General-Email address. I have no other email settings that I can see elsewhere.
Is there something that just naturally comes with WordPress, do I need another 3rd party plugin in order to have my volunteer plugin work?
I am confused how notifications work…please send me in the right direction…

Have a look at some of the solutions in E-mailed passwords are not being received.

Thank you. Can you tell me, is the address that a plugin uses to send email confirmations to (once a volunteer application is submitted) set in the WP General Settings? This is the only location I can find in the WP backend to set any kind of email address.

We are hosted by Bluehost, but do not use Bluehost’s email. We are using the Google Gmail App. Not sure if this might be a problem with receiving email confirmations or not.
