By default, Relevanssi doesn’t index words that are shorter than three characters. So, searching for “lesson 1” is the same as searching for “lesson”.

Set the minimum word length to 1, then rebuild the index and set the operator to AND. Then you’ll only get results that have both word “lesson” and the number “1”. That, of course, includes just about every lesson… You can do phrase searching with quotes, eg. “lesson 1”, but that finds all the posts with “lesson 1” in them, including all that have “lesson 1xx” or so.

This is a tricky search to get right, as the “1” is almost completely useless as a search term. I’d try adjusting the title weight to 1000 or so, that may help.

Thanks for your reply Mikko but the results are still the same.

Is it possible to incorporate a delimiter so that the search stops at 1? For example
“Lesson 1 ” where the space after the one limits the search to the 1 character.

The other thing that just came to me is why are the Lessons that are displayed not in numeric order? They come in all over the place 100 109 14 132 etc etc.

I think your search is great by the way, just looking for fine tuning.

    No, that’s unfortunately not possible.

The results are displayed in order of relevancy. If you want numeric order, then you’ll get worse matches first.

This is indeed a case where it’s really hard to get accurate results from Relevanssi. Both search terms are almost completely useless in indicating relevancy. With more specific search terms, Relevanssi performs better.
