I need some help with wp_list_categories, I just updated from 2.0.5 to 2.1.0. The function wp_list_cats I used, is depracated so I decided to change to the actual one. The problem is, i have hacked wp_list_cats in previous version to modify:

    <li><a>Category name</a>(post_count)</li>
    <li><a>Category name<em>(2)</em></a></li>

I use it to do some hovering and positioning in css. I’m a begginer in PHP, and not a WP veteran and I run into trouble to achive the same in wp_list_categories. Any help, clues or ideas would be helpfull.

I am having the same issue and have spent a ton of time on it.

Any updates on this from anyone?

    Hi there,

I found that my custom formatting was broken when upgrading to 2.1 as well, so I wrote a plugin to handle this. You can check it out here.

Hope you find it useful 🙂
