I’ve installed W3TC on my blog and used the Google speed test ( ) to checkout my site.

One of the major problems with my site was images that didn’t have an expiry date. The exact message was “The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime. Specify an expiry of at least one week in the future for the following resources:”

How can I use W3TC to set the expiry date on all of my static images such as the header logo, the footer logo, etc, etc. I do not use a CDN if that helps.

    Thank you

Please check out the browser cache settings tab and enable the expires option for media (or for all cases).

Thank you Frederick, I guess I did pick the right settings, but I’m still getting the same messages on the speed tests.

Are there any rules possibly that need to be added to the htaccess file or under the Browser Cache, General settings, do I also have to enable the global browser cache for set expires header, set cache control header and set entity tag?

Which messages? I recommend: last-modified, expires and cache control.
