    Hi

I have googled for this, but can only find how to find the ID number.

My problem is that I know what the ID number, but I want to find the post that the ID number belongs to.

Is there a way to do this please?

    Thanks

  • You can go to this URL in your browser:

    **YOUR SITE**/wp-admin/post.php?post=1234&action=edit

Of course, the number 1234 is an example, so just change that out for the post ID that you have.

You can also access the URL **YOUR SITE**/?p=1234 and that’ll redirect to the appropriate post or page.

If you’re in code, you can find the post object using get_post( 1234 ) or get_permalink( 1234 ) for the URL.

To find the post ID you can click into the posts section of your WordPress dashboard and hover over the title of a post. In the bottom of your browser, you will see the post ID.

@catacaustic – thank you, of course! I have some that I cannot access this way – I think, for example, with product variations. But otherwise thank you – so helpful.

@dd32 thanks. It didn’t work for me for some reason. I tried with a post I knew by ID. Not to worry.

@calliealbert thanks. Finding the post ID wasn’t what I was needing. I already had the post ID. I needed to find out how to se the post the ID belonged to.
