  • check all of your theme’s files, that’s where they’re coming from. for the homepage for example, start with header.php, sidebar.php and index.php, they’re in the theme, not WP.

I use Notepad++ to edit files. I carefully encode all the files in “utf-8 without BOM” but I still get once in a while a BOM that wrecks my layout in IE.
    Should I change editors?
Is there a way to scan multiple files for BOMs to find them and eliminate them?
Why can’t I set Notepad++ to save in utf-8 without BOM by default instead of ANSI?

I’ve resaved my file so many times and I’m so bloody tired of the whole thing.
Any help would be much appreciated

PS Wow Moshu you’re so powerful!

I’m ditching Notepad++, switched to UNIRED which solved my problem.

if you’re using MS windows, consider notepad2 (search at sourceforge will find it) — i’ve replaced all of my MS windows notpad.exe’s with that — it syntax hi-lites just about every language, and doesn’t create any of the encoding problems.

    Here’s the link =)
