How to filter/show events by user role

Hey guys,

i love this plugin and it truely works fine for me. There’s only one thing for me to improve:

Users of my blog are sorted into 4 groups where every group has another role and they only can see the content that refers to this group/role.
The question is if it’s possible to edit the “Events” page in a way that it only shows events that can be booked by a special user-role. Actually all events are shown even if the users can’t book them because of role-restrictions.

I think this shouldn’t be a very difficult problem, but i have no understanding of coding. Would be fine if there’s any help.

Hiya,

Actually an improvement in the most recent version of the plugin allows you to restrict tickets by role so that should provide you with the restrictions you need by the sounds of it.

Hey Phil,

yes that’s true and it works fine. But my problem is another one: I want only members of the by restrictions chosen role to see the events they are allowed to join at the events-overview, not at the single event page itself.

Hope i made it clear now.

another way to do this is to create new search attribute – http://wp-events-plugin.com/tutorials/creating-custom-event-search-attributes/

you can get the event owner id like $EM_Event->event_owner then maybe you can search it in an array of wp user role and use unset if your condition is not satisfied.

is it also possible to add
```
<?php if (current_user_can(‘subscriber’)) { ?>
xyz
<?php } ?>
```
and then a filter using $EM_Event->event_owner instead of xyz? sorry for my dumb questions but i’m in the dark about coding

The current_user_can function only takes capabilities as an argument, rather than roles. This might help:
