Support » Fixing WordPress » How to extract one users post from a group-blog & import it into another

  • Hi – this is the scenario:
One group-blog (WP 1,2) with 5 authors, one of the authors have another personal blog (WP 1,5) and want to import his postings from the group-blog into his new (the new one already exists and contains a few posts).

How do I proceed with this? Are there a way to merge the two databases?

  • I think FeedWordPress may provide what you’re looking for:

Thanks for the link, I’ve looked at it now, but I don’t understand how I can use FeedWordPress to merge the two databases.

FeedWordPress is useful for collecting (i.e. importing) items through RSS and automatically feeding them into WordPress posts. It relates to your first Q.

As for merging databases, it can be done but requires a great deal of manual massaging of the exported sqldump file, etc. It’s not something recommended (or supported), unless you *really* know what you’re doing.
