• Hello all, I am a WordPress newbie, I have a tech question I’m hoping someone can help me with. I’m fairly low-tech so I apologize if this is a dumb question!

Anyway, my site is monmouthparkblog.com. There are some menus along the right hand side of the page — I’d like to excise the “Categories” option as that really has no relevance to what I’m doing and I’d like to keep my presentation as clean and simple as possible.

Any suggestions on how I can get rid of “Categories” on the site?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • Under your wp-content/current-selected-theme/ folder, edit sidebar.php

Look for the part that has categories, and just delete it (or comment it out in case you may like to put it back in the future).

Any problems with that, and post back here again!

Where do I find my “wp-content/current-selected-theme/ folder”?

Inside the folder that wordpress is contained in, you will find a folder called wp-content.

And sorry, inside that folder look for themes folder.

    i.e. /wp-content/themes/

and then the ‘current-selected-theme’ folder is the name of the theme you are using that you want to modify.
