    Currently running PHP 8.0 and after updating license key/plugin software receiving the message:

    WP ADA Compliance Plugin – Additional Setup
    PHP Fileinfo: Your server does not have the PHP Fileinfo Extensions enabled. Issues in theme content will not be corrected.

    Where is the setting to enable. Can’t seem to locate. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello, You will most likely need to contact your hosting provider as the process is different depending upon the server environment. If you have Cpanel you may be able to use the following instructions to enable PHP extensions.

    I’ve spent considerable time with hosting provider and by default PHP 8.0 for Fileinfo Extensions is supposedly enabled. However, have not been able to confirm. In addition, attempted to add lines below in php.ini without success. I saw another user at https://projectdmc.org/how-to-enable-php-fileinfo-extensions/ submitted the exact same issue but unfortunately, no response.

    PHP.ini entries:
    extension = php_fileinfo.dll
    extension = fileinfo.so

    I’m thinking there may be a bug within PHP 8.0 or some other issue that is causing the message below:

    WP ADA Compliance Plugin – Additional Setup
    PHP Fileinfo: Your server does not have the PHP Fileinfo Extensions enabled. Issues in theme content will not be corrected.

    Have others reported similar issue? Are there sites that are confirmed using PHP 8.0 and the ADA Compliance plugin without message displaying?

    The plugin was deactivated and activated as well.

    The WP ADA Compliance Basic plugin does not have WP ADA Compliance Plugin – Additional Setup options. Please do not post support requests for the pro version in this forum.

    However, regarding your enquiry we are running PHP 8 on our development site without issue and no one has reported a problem to date.
