I’m using a theme which has in-built Facebook Login functionality. BulletProof Security works fantastically but the configurations that it adds to the .htaccess file disable Facebook login. When I restore my default .htaccess and deactivate BPS I’m able to login but when I re-activate the plugin Facebook login doesn’t work. Advice on how to fix this issue would be immensely appreciated.

    “…When I restore my default .htaccess…”
I assume you mean that you deactivated Root Folder BulletProof Mode using the Deactivate Root Folder BulletProof Mode (Default Mode) Radio button?

I assume what is going to be the issue/problem is a login conflict. ie There is a direct conflict with the Theme’s Facebook Login feature and BPS’ Login Security feature. Typically you can only use one Login feature or Login Security feature at a time since they will usually directly conflict with each other since they are both doing the same or a very similar thing and calling the same WordPress hooks – actions and filters.

Do these troublehooting steps to isolate exactly what issue/problem is occurring:
    1. Turn off BPS Login Security on the BPS Login Security & Monitoring page.
    2. Activate Root Folder BulletProof Mode.
    3. Test to see if the Theme’s facebook login works.
    4. If the Theme’s facebook login is still not working then deactivate Root Folder BulletProof Mode by using the Deactivate Root Folder BulletProof Mode (Default Mode) Radio button.

Let me know the results of doing these troubleshooting steps.

Hey AITpro, thanks a million for the quick response. I followed the steps and they worked! Deactivating BPS Login Security did it.

Ok I assume the Theme you are using comes with Login Security then. So you would want to use the Login Security and the facebook login capability that is already included in your Theme.

Or if the Theme has On|Off Login Security settings that are separate from the facebook login capability you could turn off Login Security in your Theme, use only the facebook login capability and turn BPS Login Security on. That would all depend on what kind of option settings your Theme has of course. 😉
