How to: Embed Forum into Homepage ?

    Apologies in advance for any perceived redundancy; however although I’ve seen numerous similar posts, none are clear, recent, or definitive.

    I am quite simply trying to get a forum to appear in the body of my WP blog homepage, which is installed in the root of my site. I have gotten WP-United to serve properly in the past, but as of roughly WP 3.0, it no longer works.

    Does anyone know how this can be achieved? Here’s the only image I can find – using the thesis theme.
