  • Thanks agelonwl!

    I’ve used custom attributes already and have them set up. Now I would like to know how to display the custom attribute fields in the front end submit your event form. Like on this page: http://demo.wp-events-plugin.com/submit-your-event/

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    They should be automatically added to your form if you’ve set them up correctly. Do you see them in your wp-admin event editor?

    Hi Marcus,

    I’m not sure I’m explaining my question properly so I thought I’d make a quick video and hopefully it makes more sense.

    (sorry for the audio quality…it sucks…hopefully you can still understand me?)

    Let me know if there’s anything I can do!

    Thanks!

    your settings look ok, it should appear automaticlaly, so have you made any modifications to the plugin or overriden any of our template files?

    alternatively, are you using any caching plugins that is caching the old page content?

    Hi Marcus,

    I haven’t made any modifications to the plugin itself or overridden any of the template files. And not using any caching plugins either.

    If it’s supposed to appear automatically, then that would totally be awesome. I just cleared my browser cache and reopened the submit event page and the custom attributes are not there.

    Is there something else that I should check?

    Thanks!

    this is working fine on my test site too; just to narrow down the problem have you tried to temporarily:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

    also, do you have a sample link for us to see?

    I added placeholders in the same place as you for example, see http://demo.wp-events-plugin.com/submit-your-event/ (see beneath the description textbox)

    someone else had this too, but hasn’t gotten back to me yet, the above proves that it works though…

    I had a “password protected” plugin which I’ve now deactivated. The other plugins I have activated are the Events Manager and WP FullCalendar. The form still didn’t automatically update. The theme that I’m using is one of the default ones Twenty Twelve. I tried all the other default themes and the outcome was the same.

    Here’s a link to the submit event form on my test site. http://thetwozupees.com/submit-event/

    Here’s what I’ve got under the “Event Attributes” field in the general settings. Do these look right?
    #_ATT{Contract Number} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Deposit} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Performance Length} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Load In Time} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Sound Check Time} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Artist Showtime} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Ages}{ALL|18+|21+}
    #_ATT{Venue Contact} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Venue Phone} {Default Value}
    #_ATT{Venue Email} {Default Value}

    I decided to remove all but one of the custom attributes to see what would happen and the form still did not update automatically.

    Any more ideas?
