How to Edit Custom Field?

I created a field that is filled out during registration named Graduation Year. It is a drop down box with years 1980 to 1989. That shows up and on the profile page it shows the year you picked. However, when you click edit and use the plugin frontend to edit the profile the option to change your graduation year is not there. It still just shows the graduation year as text. I have the dropdown box marked as yes user can edit information. I am curious what I am doing wrong.
