Support » Plugin: Head & Footer Code » How to edit an individual post’s head section

  • Resolved passiveinc

I want to add Google conversion tracking to some buttons on my WordPress post pages.

Regarding the global site tag, Google Ads tells me “Copy the tag below and paste it in between the <head></head> tags of every page of your website. You only need to install the global site tag once per account, even if you are tracking multiple actions.”
-> For this, I used the Header & Footer Plugin and copied to provided code snippet into the plugin’s tab “Head and footer” in the box “ON EVERY PAGE”. I think, this should be fine.

My question is however on the event snippet. Google Ads tells me “Copy the snippet below and paste it in between the <head></head> tags of the page(s) you’d like to track, right after the global site tag. Then, call gtag_report_conversion when someone clicks on the chosen link or button.”

Question: How to I edit the head section of an individual posts page with the plugin?

  • Hello @passiveinc,

Thank you for choosing Head & Footer Code for your website!

To achieve what you wish, first make sure that you have enabled proper Post Types in “Article specific Head and Footer Code” section on plugin settings.
Then edit individual post/page where you have to insert additional code, in Head & Footer Code metabox choose method to “append code to site-wide code”, and insert additional Google code snippet to HEAD section of post/page.
Then save changes on page and that’s it.

Please let me know if this answer your question well?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Aleksander,

thank you for your quick response. I was checking but was not able to find the “Article specific Head and Footer Code” section.

I checked under Settings -> Header and Footer was am not sure where to define the post types. Can you please elaborate?

    Hi @passiveinc,

Please check out bottom of this screenshot (plugin settings) – there you has to enable article-specific HFC.

Than, on page/post edit there will be HFC metabox like on this screenshot

Please let me know if you need further clarification.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Aleksander,

thanks for the screenshot. I checked, but under Tools I find no section “Head & Footer Code”. I am using Version 3.1.6 of the plugin.

Is there another option to activate the Article specific Head and Footer Code?

    Hi @passiveinc,

Then you obviously does not use our plugin Head & Footer Code as latest version is 1.1.0.

For further support here please replace your plugin with Head & Footer Code form

    Thank you for understanding,

Thanks Alexander, I just realized that I am using the right plugin. 🙂
So the menus looked little bit different but now I found the Article specific head and footer code.

But when I click on “Posts” in the menu, I do not find the meta box to the head section. Can you help me finding it for my individual posts?
