How to make sure that when importing goods from a file, goods that are not in the file are set to “out of stock” status?

  • Hi @salexys. Can you give us a bit more information on the situation? Your store already has some products that have been created, and you want those products to change to out of stock if they are not part of an import CSV?

Hi. Yes that’s right. Products have been created and have an “in stock” status and quantity. But with a new import, they are absent in the CSV file, since the file is generated by a third-party program. It is necessary that products that are not in the CSV file are automatically set to “out of stock” status.

Hi @salexys, thanks for the additional info. I think the easiest way to do this would be to use the product bulk editing functionality to change all products to out of stock, then set the import CSV to make it so any products that were imported were set to in stock. After the import, the imported products would have a status of in stock, while the products that hadn’t been imported would still be set to out of stock.

This is set in the In stock? column in the CSV. It is a boolean, so 1 is in stock and 0 is out of stock. I’m sure you’re already familiar with this, but the import schema (including the columns) is here.

Thank you, a good option, I will use it. It would be nice to have this done automatically in future versions.

    You’re welcome!
