i am wondering the same thing!
(also, i’d love to be able to put social links in the top header bar too, with the phone number, physical and email address)

Hello,
To display social links you just need to add custom links pointing to your social media profiles.
So, the first step would be to create a new menu. “Go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Menus” and click on “create a new menu” link. Enter a Menu Name (for example “Social”) and click on the Create Menu button.
Add custom links to this menu, use the “Links” box. Just make a link to the social media profiles you want to display.
Click on the Save Menu button.
Next, click on “Manage Locations” tab and select the menu that was just created in the “Social Menu” drop-down list and click on the ‘Save Changes” button.

awesome. i’ve updated the theme itself (still can’t make services appear, a different issue) – now i am getting social links in the top left as well as the footer bar.
i’d be fine with them up in the top left except that the company name (where the logo will eventually go) is overlapping those.

i did get services working (DUH, forgot to set it to “homepage” template first).
