    Hi,

I am considering migrating to WordPress from Blogger, where I currently have 2 blogs – one for my family related stuff, and one for my professional related stuff.

I intend to host both blogs on the same physical server, but use some kind of virtual host setup so that the URLs will be significantly different.

Also the look and feel of both blogs will be significantly different.

Normally, when I write a post it will clearly be meant for one blog or the other. However, from time to time I would like to be able to write a post that would appear on both blogs simultaneously.

Is this possible? What setup will best support this last requirement?

This is a greenfield WordPress installation, so I am open to all options.

    Thanks

    Just a bit of slang.

A greenfield or green field install means it is a brand new install as apposed to an upgrade etc.

You could use a plugin that creates new posts from an RSS feed. Each category of posts can generate its own RSS feed, so if you want to cross post you could post to a specific category and pull that categories RSS feed into the other blog with the plugin. Sorry I’m home on my lunch right now and too lazy to look up the plugin name your would need.

Thanks for the idea biglistofgiveaways (if that is your real name!).

    I understand the idea.

But this feels like a lite solution – for example I am wondering about things like comments etc. For example, the comments for a post that is meant for both blogs should still be unified (ie. it shouldn’t matter which blog a commenter saw the post on, their comments just go into the list of comments for that post and that list is identical on both blogs).

I saw this post and notice the mention of multi-user install and a dashboard being able to show info for more than 1 blog at a time. I am wondering if what I want to do is already possible, but I haven’t stumbled upon the right docs yet.
