[how-to] display content in two columns by author?

  • Greetings. I’m new to WordPress but not web design and I’ve been having trouble finding a clear way to display two columns of content on the main page with one column per author.

An example of what I’m trying to do is here (under the comic).

Essentially, I and another person will be biking around the country and want to keep a blog. The idea is that each ‘side’ of the site will be styled differently, but complimentary. However, at this point getting more than one column is my first hurdle.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Did you ever figure it out? It seems like you did judging on the link you posted. But for people who need this code, here is what I did for mine.

Before you start the loop, you need to do a query and define the author per column (author_name=author1). Also make sure to check the name of the author is correct. I made this mistake and coudln’t figure out why it wasn’t filtering posts by author correctly.
