Support » Fixing WordPress » How to display banner on Homepage ONLY?

  • Hi there-
    I have a very old theme (that is no longer updated) that does not USE or allow sidebar widgets.
    How can I have a banner display in my right sidebar on my homepage ONLY and not other pages? Appreciate any help!

    Sorry but your chosen theme does not appear to have been released under GPL. Non GPL products are not welcome in the WordPress community. Official WordPress policy states that all plugins and themes that are publicly released are required to adhere to http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/

    Any support requests for non-GPL products are usually ignored, in the interests of supporting the community and its freedoms.

    I selected this free theme from the WP site 5 years ago.
    I didn’t make the theme…it is called Connections and was a choice on the actual WP site.

    I’d appreciate any help with adding the banner and what code I’d need to add to which php file.
    THank you.

    From your theme:

    /*
    Theme Name: Connections
    Theme URI: http://www.patriciamuller.com
    Version: 1.0
    Description: A Theme from wpthemes.Info
    Author: Patricia Muller
    Author URI: http://www.vanillamist.com/blog/
    */

    From http://wpthemes.info/license-info/

    You can use the themes in your website as long as you keep the credits to our website in-tact.

    Those licensing conditions are in breach of GPL.
