I am dismayed to watch in real time as the “Recently Updated” plugins link is purged from the site. I’ve discovered both new and old plugins that I did not know that I need, that now I cannot live without. It was a good place to find random plugins that were either being released for the first time (exciting!) or were being patched (meaning they were likely not abandoned and stood a better chance of still being supported.)

So please tell me this is a temporary thing! I’d like to continue to monitor new and existing plugins as they are released. Thank you WordPress team!

EDIT: Nevermind, I see the other topic. The link still works ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/browse/new/ ) you guys are apparently just making me bookmark it. Seems like this could potentially have a bad effect on the plugin ecosystem, as it makes it harder for most people to find new random plugins and makes it harder for new plugins to establish themselves due to less exposure and therefore less downloads. Instead, this just leaves the established plugins in Popular, and the curated wall garden plugins in Featured, or for a user to have a specific need that they search for. The last updated was good because you could discover plugins that you hadn’t even considered needing, sometimes very small niche plugins with no reviews and small download numbers. Now, those plugins are lost to a whole new generation of new WordPress users who will not know the https://wordpress.org/plugins/browse/new/ URL.

Oh well, I am disappointed, but it’s your product and website. I’ve been developing for WordPress for 8 years, so thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I know you all have a tough job, and my feedback is meant to only to help illuminate my position as a long time WordPress user and developer. Thank you.
