Hello admin, nice theme you have developed “Startup Blog“.

Please, I want to remove/disable the ‘website field‘ in the comment box section.

I want users to only enter their name and email and comment.

    Thanks

    Thanks for using Startup Blog!

You can remove the website field with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-hide-comment-url/

It’s a very simple plugin that won’t slow down your site or add any new menus. It just includes a function to remove the website field in the comment form.

Edit: I could provide you with some CSS to visually hide it, but removing it from the HTML with this plugin will also help reduce comment spam.

    Thanks for your reply.

The plugin you mentioned did not work, after install and activate, the website url field still appears in comment section.

    Sorry that didn’t work.

I’ve put together a “child theme” that you can activate on your site instead to remove the website field. Click here to download.

You can upload the zip file through the Appearance menu just like a regular theme and once activated, the website field will be removed from the comment form.
