How to disable the category display feature?

    How can I disable the category display feature?

    I have a site with some posts which only contain a gallery as post text, and I would like to disable the display of http://www.mysite.com/category/default-category

    If a user opens such a page from a search engine, it wouldn’t be very useful, because there is no real content.

    What do you suggest?
