Recently we have got the problem that the shipping calulator is active, even when not enabled in backend.

We do explicit NOT mark any option in the shipping setting.
But still the calculator shows up and try to calculate a shipping cost.
We use ‘weightbased shipping’ with a plugin, and therefor it does not make sense for us to calculate anything based on address….

We do know about enabling the calculation in backend. And we did NOT enable it!!
Anyway it is still active… and giving problem for our costumers…

Googgleling the problem always says ‘simply don’t activate calculation’… But this is not enough… the calculating is still active, even we do not enable it!…. Is there a way to FORCE a deactivation of shipping calculation?

We do NOT want to deactivate shipping cost totally, since we do charge shipping. But it is based on weight only. And THAT calculation works flawless.

Still Woocommerce tries to make a ‘calculated shipping’ based on adress.
How to STOP that for happening!

    Hello @madssafi,

Perhaps your theme is overriding the cart page behaviour, on my test site with Storefront this doesn’t happen.

If switching themes didn’t help, then please attach a copy of your site’s system status report. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.  Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

You reply by saying ‘this doesn’t happen’?
    Exactly WHAT doesn’t happen?

On your screenshot I can see that Woocommerce is still injecting your adressinformation in the “woocommerce-shipping-totals shipping” field.
(“Shipping to Amman, Ammana, Amman, Amman, 11118, Jordan.”)

To mee it looks like that the “shipping calculation” is activated EVEN it is not enabled in backend. And this is something that started after a recent update, not the original/expected behaviour.

So I am looking for a way to force a deactivation of the calculation happening, even I have not activated any calculation.

Only calculation done, is weightbased, and this part works flawless.
Please feel free to place an order in the shops linked above!

Regarding themes; This woocommerce webshop IS running on Storefront. And I have I have tried “a plain fresh storefront installation”, but it doesnt change anything… 🙁
Also, I have this problem with other woocommerce installations… (running elementor and hello-theme with woocommerce)

Again; To me, without being an expert, this more looks like some small ‘bug’ in a recent WC-update. And I really hope that it can be fix in a new update of the plugin.

AND; Is there anyway to FORCE a deactivation of freight-calculation?

All the best, and thanks for looking in to it! 🙂

This is NOT the shipping calculator, it’s just the shipping details as I’m testing ordering from an account with an existing shipping address.

The shipping calculator will allow you to edit the shipping information on the cart page, like this:

If you’d like to forcefully hide any shipping details on the cart page, you can check this snippet.

You can add it to your functions.php file or use a plugin like Code snippet.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for getting back to me.

Unfortunately, the problem is still there. As I understand, the problem is aknowledged and we all are waiting for a fix from woocommerce developers. We still a problem until then…

    Hi @madssafi

I understand that the problem still persists on your end.

Checking your site I add a product to my cart and this is what I’m seeing on my end. The shipping calculation is disabled and will only be calculated on the checkout page.

To better picture what you are referring to here, can you please share with us a clear screenshot of what you see on your end where the shipping is still being calculated so that we could address you more effectively?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, you can try https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.
