How to disable links in comments? (4 posts)

    I'm sure it's no surprise that 99% of the comments left on my site are links to other sites both in the comment body and in the designated link area. How can I completely disable links to be placed in "website" area when a user is leaving a comment? This has led to way too much spam.

    Not sure about turning off the links part,

    But make sure you have Akismet enabled to set Spam comments into the Spam folder. Akismet is a plug-in that comes standard with WordPress. Not much gets by Akismet, has made things much easier.

    I've been commenting out all mention of links in all of the comment.php pages..I haven't uploaded them all yet, but I'll see how it works.. It's so annoying.

    Use the Antispam Extra plugin. It was created exactly for this problem.
