Support » Plugin: AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages » How to disable amp support for custom taxonomy

From settings>general, I enabled posts for amp support. That means I am using amp for posts only. I disabled amp support for pages, homepage, archives.

Recently, I wish to avail amp support for custom post type. So I have selected my custom post type from Custom Post Type box. But I can’t find any option to disable amp support for custom taxonomy.

I noticed that if I add custom post type it enables amp support for custom taxonomy too, by default. But I don’t want to use amp for custom taxonomy archives.

Don’t say that disable amp for a taxonomy by editing that taxonomy. I want to disable amp for whole taxonomy archives.

Please add a toggle switch for custom taxonomy as we have one for Archives [Category & Tags].

Can you please refer to the following tutorial and let us know back if you need any assistance?

Thanks for your reply. But I mentioned about it in the question. I saw this tutorial earlier. This is the way to disable amp for custom taxonomy individually. What about disabling amp for all custom taxonomy archive?

Look at this image i created.

    Thank you.

Can you please let us know which version you are using at your end?

Also can you please refer to the following screenshot and let us know back?

@ahmedkaludi I saw the screenshot and I already did this. I’ve selected custom post type from Custom Post Types box, switched off support for all categories and tags.

But there is no option to switch off support for custom taxonomy archives. That’s why I requested that feature in the image of my previous reply.

Sorry for the previous response. Can you please refer to the following screenshot? And if you have custom taxonomy in the Non-AMP version, then only this option will show up.

    Thank you @ahmedkaludi.

But there remains one problem. If I disable “Archives [Category & Tags]” option, it hides “custom taxonomy” too.

What if I want to disable amp for Archives [Category & Tags], but want to enable amp for custom taxonomy?

Can you please let us know exactly what you want to achieve and what problems which you are facing at your end? as we already have the option to hide it individually and also you can enable the support of archive and disable category and tag option for custom taxonomy to work.

    Thread Starter sumon1068

    (@sumon1068)

you can enable the support of archive and disable category and tag option for custom taxonomy to work.

Yes, I can disable category and tag option but there remains author archive and more that can’t be disabled.

Here is what I want to achieve: I want amp support only for custom taxonomy archive; not for other archives (such as category archive, tag archive, author archive, year/month archive etc).

So it will be better to keep the two option separated.
    1) option to enable or disable amp support for “Archives [Category & Tags]”
    2) option to enable or disable amp support for “custom taxonomy” if users enabled amp support for custom post type.

    Thank you.

If you want to enable amp for custom taxonomy then you need to enable the support for archives. For that, turn off the cat and tag option only. And we already have individually show hide amp too.

Can you please enable archive support and turn off the cat and tags? So that the issue will be fixed.

I can turn off the cat and tag option. But how can I turn off author archive?

For that please refer to the below documentation and let us know back if you need any assistance. So that we will help you accordingly.

I have read the tutorial. I think it’s not good for seo. Anyway, I don’t need amp for taxonomy.

    Thanks for your time.
