Support » Plugin: Child Theme Creator by Orbisius » How to disable access to Orbisius Theme Editor for all roles on Multisite Websit

  • Resolved shah.neel

I have installed this plugin on a multisite environment and would like to restrict access to the Orbisius Theme Editor only for Super Admins similar to Orbisius Child Theme Creator. How can I do it?
Also if I modify your plugin files to do so and later if I update your plugin next time will the change revert back or remain as it is forever?

Nooooo, don’t modify the code. Any future update will override it.

Did you see the FAQ at ?

How to disable Orbisius Theme Editor Plugin?
Just put this line right after the first <?php tag in the wp-config.php. This will also remove the WordPress’ Theme/Plugin editors as well.

    define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true);

P.S. is our favourite place to provide support 🙂

Okay, but I want to keep the super admins have access to Theme and Plugins editor. It’s just that I do not want anyone else have access to editor except the Super admins. Is there any other solution to do this?

Non-super admins should not have access to the double theme editor.

For multisite the plugin should always redirect to the main/network admin area.

Do you mean that the menu item should not be shown?

Can you logging in with a non-superadmin and let me know what happens?
You’re running the latest version, correct?

Yes I tested this plugin on a multisite wordpress 3.7.1 and 3.6.1.
Appearance > Orbisius Child Theme Creator” redirects to the Network Admin section when clicked from any user or site.
But “Appearance > Orbisius Theme Editor” does not redirect user to Network Admin section. I tried this using Administrator role. So Any administrator of any site can mess with the theme files.

    Hi Shah,

Just checked with WP 3.8 and indeed the user is redirected to the network admin page. Can’t reproduce your scenario.

P.S. a version 1.1.2 has been posted half an hour ago.
