Hi there,
select the pattern on the page, and its toolbar 3 dot menu – select Detach Pattern.
Note: when you first create a pattern, if you uncheck the Synced
option then any instance of that pattern will be independent of the others.

Thank you for the quick reply, David!
However, I can’t seem to find the Detach Pattern option… maybe I am looking at the wrong place…?
Under three dots on the toolbar upon selecting the pattern I created I have:
Select parent block
Copy
Duplicate
Add before
Add after
Group
Lock
Delete
(The pattern element has a purple double rhombus figure so I think it is selected correctly…)
On the other hand, I’ll have in mind the sync option that you mentioned, it will be handy for some things.

Thank you very much, David!
The thing is that for some reason that option is not available. I tried making different kinds of patterns but without success.
(Also, I can’t detach pattern when I insert ready-made patterns from the left side menu…)
Here goes the screenshot.

I’ll keep trying and if I find a solution I’ll post it here.

The option is part of WordPress core, so why its not showing might be a plugin conflict or user privilege.
- can you make sure you’re logged in as an Admin. If you’re try creating a new admin login and try again.
- check for plugin conflicts by temporarily disabling other plugins

Thank you, David!
Unfortunately, it didn´t work – I have only GenerateBlocks plugin which I deactivated and reactivated… and I tried making a new admin, but when I logged in with it nothing changed…
So it doesn’t matter, I think I can work without this feature (although it would be nice to have it).
Overall I find GeneratePress easy to work with and if I get stuck again I’ll count on this forum 🙂
Thank you again for your help!
It may be worth asking in the general WP support forum, one of the team there may have experienced something similar.
Let us know how you get on

Hey David,
Here goes the follow up on this issue:
I tried doing the same thing on another hosting and it works perfectly. So it must be some kind of bug on the hosting platform that I am using. It is free, and I am using it to refresh my knowledge of WordPress so I can’t complain.
I’ll mark this issue as “resolved”.
Thank you again.
