Support » Theme: Vantage » how to delete specific footer "A SiteOrigin Theme" ?

  • Resolved fabrice.regnier

    Hello all,

    In the footer, i can add any text but how can i delete the default footer “A SiteOrigin Theme” ?

    When i go in “Apparence”, “Widget”, i can see the footer but no “A SiteOrigin Theme” inside.

    Any hints ?

  • If you look in parts/footer.php of the Vantage theme folder, you should be able to figure out which line to remove.

    If you’d like to support the development of Vantage, the premium upgrade automatically removes this link for you. The premium upgrade is pay-what-you-want too 🙂

    ok, thanx for info. I think seriously to support the dev of Vantage because of the support it-self even if youy didn’t buy anything!

    I need to check some details first. For example, i find the whole template too much black&white only. Is there some ways to change some background colors easily ?

    Do not edit the theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes. Or install a custom CSS plugin.

    I’d also suggest starting with Theme Development if you wish to take the DIY approach.

    Customizer integration is next on my TODO list. This would make it much easier to change things like colors, layouts, etc.

    For now, the approach Esmi suggested will work. I always suggest going the custom CSS plugin route. It’s a little easier than creating a child theme, especially when you’re just starting out.

    Thank you Esmi and Greg for infos!

    I already started a child theme but i’ll give a try to custom css plugin.

    Moreover, i’ll definitely pay for vantage premium given the quality of the support! The customizer integration in your TODO list is exactly what i’m looking for! If needed, i can test some stuffs when you want.

    Fabrice quite new and dull, isn’t it ?

    thank you this answered my other question submitted earlier.

    Hello, my company has bought the Premium-version of Vantage but in the mobile-version, it doesn’t automatically remove the “powered by wordpress” nore the “site-origin” link? And I don’t want to remove it manually after every upgrade.
    Help needed on that one, please.

    Problem solved, comes from a conflict with JetPack’s Mobile Themes option.

    Hey Greg
    Loving what you’re doing for everyone else here by letting people download Vantage for free and I would like to upgrade to support you guys. What else is coming in the package though? is Meta Slider pro part of it?

    just bought it, regardless of the slider Vantage is worth spending money on, keep up the good work.

    Hi Greg

    Im using vantage and I have deleted the footer section, if you have a look at the site you will see there is no footer

    I went into footer parts editor an tried to change the ‘siteorgin theme’ info so it now reads as follows;

    <?php echo apply_filters( ‘vantage_footer_attribution’, ‘<div id=”theme-attribution”>’ . sprintf( __(‘Pimp My Pad 2014′,). ‘</div>’ ) ?>

    </footer><!– #colophon .site-footer –>

    Can you send me the code to reinstae=te as it was before??

    Hi Ty Nguyen

    Thanks for your upgrade. MetaSlider Pro is not included in the premium version of Vantage. For anyone else checking this thread, if you have the free version installed please head to Appearance > Premium Upgrade to check our premium feature list.

    All the best.

    Hi karen mc g

    Please try downloading the free version again from this link: and then pulling the footer file out of the ZIP folder and copying that into your theme editor. Please also check the contribution from esmi a bit higher up. A child theme should be used when editing theme files.

    Kind regards

    #colophon #theme-attribution {
    display: none;
