Support » Plugin: Ultimate FAQ » How to delete Empty FAQs?

  • Firstly, I tried excel import and it ended up creating a bunch of empty faqs (posts). Now I am unable to delete them since WordPress doesn’t allow deleting empty posts. I have to abandon this plugin because of this issue. Any help from you would be appreciated.

Thank you for contacting us. Could share the excel file with us so we can recreate the same problem on our test server and see where the issue is?

For those extra FAQs that you can’t delete, how are you trying to delete them? Are you checking the box beside each one and then selecting “Move to Trash” from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown menu? If not, try that. It could also be that there was some bad data that got imported from your spreadsheet that is messing up the delete query. If that’s the case, you may have to delete these entries directly from your database (i.e. via phpMyAdmin). Since the FAQs are a custom post type, the FAQ posts would be found in the regular wp_posts table.

    Best regards,

Thank you for your response. This is the excel file:

It has many empty cells. I think that caused the problem. Also, I couldn’t find any information in the documentation about what should be the format of excel sheet for importing question and answers.

Here is a screenshot of empty Faqs. I have tried all methods to delete them – single delete, bulk delete etc. But nothing seems to work.

Please let me know how to proceed.

    Hi udaysy,

We’ve tested it out and it looks like FAQs with no name will not bulk delete. We’ll have to look in to that.

In the meantime, here are two possible methods to delete the extra entries:

    A) You go into your database and delete the entries from there (probably better in your case, if you have a lot of blank FAQs).

    B) You do a “Quick Edit” on the entries marked as “(no title)” and give each a name. From there, you should be able to delete them (individually or in bulk).

In regards to option #1, if you remove all posts and wish to reupload, we would suggest that you remove all the blank rows from your XLSX file.

We also noticed that there are five rows in the “Question” cell that are empty but there is content in the “Answers” column. Here are the ‘answers’ so you can locate them in your file:

“1) download the form from this link. 2) all the instructions are given on this page, regarding, how to fill up the form and where to send it along with what documents 3) after sending filled form to mentioned address you will get your IBAN number and BIC number on your Email (if you choose Email address as your receiving medium). 4) after that you deposit the said amount from kotak to your DB account 5) then you will get confirmation from DB regarding the same 6) and to start using that money from your DB account you will have to fill one other form which is also given in above mentioned link

” It’s completely fine.. if the evaluator Is happy with your profile, he won’t reject you just because you didn’t have date on your LOR..”

“1. if you have worked previously, you need one employee LOR and another one is academic LOR (ifyou need more than one academic LORs , take it from different professors”

    “Also here:
