    Hi Matthias,

we are trying to redirect alias domains to a specific wordpress page. The automatic replacement of wordpress links to that page with the alias domain works fine, but the alias domains then only redirect to the frontpage (with http status code 301). How would I go about debugging here? Any tips on what I should do to find out what’s going wrong here?

Also: is this plugin supposed to add any rules to the .htaccess (because in our case, it doesn’t)?

    Best regards
    Christoph

    hy christoph,

do you use https in your website? if yes, please ensure that you have both http and https versions of the domain in your mappings (as described in faq/screenshots).
another very popular case is browser caching – please delete it or use a fresh browser for testing.

if this does not help, please add a screenshot of your settings for further help 🙂

an no, the htaccess file is not affected by the plugin.

Thanks for your quick response, Matt!

I thought I wouldn’t have to add the http-domain as redirection from http to https is already handled on our server. But now, after adding the http-rules, it works for me.

great to hear 🙂 i know that this is bad usability and we also know how we will improve it, but there is so little time 😉

good luck with your project. if you use our plugin for a clients project or commercial purpose, we are always happy about a small donation so we can keep on support and improvement 😉
