If the widget is dependent on a plugin , no need to remove the widget just deactivate the plugin , the widget will dissapear and if you activate the plugin the widget will come back automatically. But if you made the widget via a text widget with custom code then this is not the case , you would have to manually add it back on and all that.
But why would you wanna do that ?
Not sure you understood what I was saying. Let’s say that I made a text widget and placed it in sidebar 1. Then, I thought to myself, I’m not sure if I want this there, but I don’t want to lose what I created forever. I wish I could just remove it from the sidebar into a holding area on the left, but later could move it back to the sidebar when I desired it again.
Here is another likely more common situation. Let’s say I created a text widget and placed it in Sidebar 1, of a two sidebar theme. Then I decide I’d like to simply move it to Sidebar 2. I can’t. I have to delete it from Sidebar 1, then create a new one and add it to Sidebar 2.
