    Currently I changed code directly in “/themes/easy-store/inc/hooks/es-footer-hooks.php” because it’s in sub-folder of the theme. Please kindly point out how to customize footer from child theme?

    Also with file “/themes/easy-store/inc/template-functions.php”, I changed line 261 [under code “if( ! function_exists( ‘easy_store_top_header_items’ ) ):
    function easy_store_top_header_items() {…”] from
    “<span class=”item-info”><?php echo esc_html( $item_info ); ?></span>” to
    “<span class=”item-info”><?php echo $item_info ; ?></span>”
    I have no idea how to customize the file from child theme. Please help.

    Hello @scott_ease

    About footer customization, you can copy the parent theme’s footer.php to the child theme.

    About the top header item customization, you can use the same function easy_store_top_header_items() on your child theme function file.

    Thanks,

    generally, check the search engines about ‘how to edit pluggable functions in wordpress’ and ‘how to edit action and filter hooks in wordpress’

    I found this article very helpful
    https://mhthemes.com/support/knb/overriding-parent-theme-functions-child-theme-tutorial/

    I followed the first instruction “simply take the function from the parent theme, without the conditional tag, put it in file functions.php of your child theme and let it run whatever you like”, and got things done.

    Thank you.
