How to create searchable image gallery

Hello all,

I’m new to WordPress so not familiar with the technical side of things.

What I would like to do is have a searchable image gallery where you can input search terms e.g. “Spain” “Skiing” and have all the photos with those tags display but nobody seems to offer a simple solution for this.

I explored NEXTgen gallery but no plugin there. One suggestion was WPSearch but I’m not sure that will pick up the tags.

Are there other gallery solutions or search products out there which will satisfy what must be a very common goal. My site has a password so WP Google search is not applicable.
