How to create default featured image for custom post type?

    I have all custom posts to be on the same topic with slight variations.So, I am not interested in setting featured image for each and every post.

    So, I would like to set a default featured image for my custom post type. What should I do?

    We don’t have that type of feature available in CPTUI, for the record. However something like https://wordpress.org/plugins/default-featured-image/ looks promising.

    Other ideas I have that are custom would be to fetch all the existing posts and set the featured image programmatically, and then also assign the same image upon publish. However that’d take some custom coding to achieve.

    I have no coding knowledge.

    Not really, and it’d need to be tailored to your specific website in a number of places. I’d personally check out the plugin I link to in my last reply, in this case.
