• I want to have a static, or stickie (are these the same thing, btw?), post explaining what our site is about at the top of our page. As we post new shows, I want them to appear under this one. How do I go about doing that?

The Web site is http://www.crappychristian.net if you need to see what I mean. I want something that will stay at the top of the page.

    Thanks for your help!
    Luria

  • Had you done a search using the provided facility, you would have found a number of fairly recent threads about this. In one of them you would have found this plugin addy:

    http://www.asymptomatic.net/wp-hacks

    Thread Starter crappychristian

    (@crappychristian)

When I searched for topics, I didn’t find anything relevant. I will look at it. Thanks!

I think this is the most intelligent sticky plugin available:

    CG-PostOrder:
    http://www.chait.net/index.php?p=238

It’s a good plugin, but way more complicated than necessary for simply sticking one post to the top of the post display…. there’s never any reason to use something that provides functions one will never need or is more complicated than one needs. Now if one thinks one will need expanded functionality at some point in the future….

[BTW, the link provided is to a package of plugins from chait.net – the ChaitGear package. The plugin jumbo noted is part of the package….]

Just use the URI that vkaryl shows above and get the “Adhesive” plugin. It will allow you to make any of your posts show as the first and keep it there no matter how many other posts you have after it.
