How to create a custom page template?

    When I create or edit a page, I see three templates:
    Standard-Template
    Elementor Canvas
    Elementor full width

    I like to create variations of the Standard-Template with slightly different designs.

    When I add a file to the theme folder generatepress, it is not listed under page templates.

    What am I doing wrong?

    BTW: I prefer to stay with the free version since this is for an NGO.
