[resolved] how to control the display text of the posts in home page and catalog page? (5 posts)

    In my site, I set 5 posts showing in Home Page.
    The posts display the full text with original formate in Home Page, I mean the post in Home Page shows just as what it is in individual Post Page.
    And Now I want posts show only a summary in Home Page, and of course with it's original formate. How can I do that? Is it possible to control how many lines or words I want to show in the summary? And how to add a tag <more> in the end of the summary which links to individual Post Page?

    Another question-- In the catalog page, which shows all the posts in this catalog, the post only shows a full paragraph with all the text words together without original formate, and neglects the video and audeo contects.
    And now I want posts show a full text with correct formate, just the same show as in Post Page, not summary. How can I do that?

    Help me pls! Thanks a lot!!

    I use to do this manually. choose where you want to end your summary and in html view add <!--more-->

    Hi nunotmp, thank your help. it does work in Home Page, thank you so much. I'm reading the links now.
    And I'm still confused about catalog page issues.

    In the catalog page, which shows all the posts in this catalog, the post only shows a full paragraph with all the text words together without original formate

    locate which template creates the catalog page;

    and search for the_excerpt() - replace it with the_content()
