I’m struggling with the direct BROWSER feature of this plug-in.
“Attach file directly from your server using server file browser”.

In the WP-ADMIN – DOWNLOADS – SETTINGS, I set “Server File Browser Base Dir:” to a folder on the same server. I uploaded several files (manually, not using WordPress Media Library). Now, how do I get a list of these files to display? I can’t figure out what short code to use.

    HELP!

Is it true, the only way to display a list of files for the front-end user is to also add this add-on?

Hi, you can show list of the attached directory in your package page by the [file_list] tag in the package page template.
    Thank you.

Thank-you for your reply. That’s a lot of pieces I don’t understand. Please give me very specific steps.
    ———–
Attached Directory = the directory I specify in wp-admin/DOWNLAODS/Settings
    “Server File Browser Base Directory”

Package Page = the WordPress page where I enter the shotcode.

Package Page Template = ?? What is this.
    ———–
What I did was create a sample page with the following shot codes,
    [wpdm_user_dashboard]
    [wpdm_all_packages]
    [file_list]
    [file_list_extended]

The first 2 render some info on the page when I view it, the second 2 do nothing. They actually print out the shortcode on the screen, as if they’re invalid.
    The documentation (https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/template-tags/) doesn’t list any per-requisits.

Please let me know what step I missed.
    Thanks

EDIT: If this is a premium feature, that’s fine, I’ll buy the premium package but 1st I need to see it working. I can’t find what I’m loking for in the demo site:

EDIT2: Not sure how often your DEMO site gets refreshed… but if it’s still there:

Can I get some support on this question? Can I get some specific instructions on how the [file_list] or [file_list_extended] work? I added these short codes but they’re not working.
    Thanks,
    CK

    Nothing at all? Disappointing.

Hi ckaye, sorry for the late reply, wordpress.org doesn’t automatically notify the followup reply email, and I mistakenly forgot to check the notification email.

[file_list] is not a shortcode, it is a tag, you can add it in a page template. pro version supports editing page template directly from your dashboard, but in free version you can edit it directly in the following directory
    plugins\download-manager\tpls\page-templates

please let me know if this works. I will check the followup notify reply this time 🙂
