how to combine TOC+ with post pagination? I would like the whole table of contents to always be displayed, even if there is one header on the page.

    Best regards,

Unfortunately this plugin does not work when post pagination is used as it is not provided all headings when the page is rendered.

To complete what Mike said the pagination tag <!--nextpage--> causes the rendering, the creation, of the webpage to stop. In essence the plugin doesn’t know, what headers there are to come and be included, because the headers don’t yet exist for the plugin to see. In order to make this work the plugin should first render by itself, i.e. bypass the WP engine, the post without pagination. I can well imagine this being hard, errorprone and put extra burden on the server.

fyi, just commenting because @reti shared a link to a support thread from ezTOC…

That thread is older, but accurate. However, I do not recommend installing the version linked to in that thread. Instead, I recommend this version. Here’s the link:

It does support the <!--nextpage--> tag and even though it is tagged as a release candidate, this version will likely be the version to be released as the as the final 2.0 version.

Thanks a lot for this information.

I have a problem with the plugin. The table of contents is displayed correctly, the urls to the anchors are generated as I wish but by clicking on one of the anchors, I am not redirected, it remains inactive. By disabling WPBakery visual composer, it works. So there is a conflict with this page builder. How to fix this problem ?
