How to change website display photo? (3 posts)

    Hello,

I am just wondering how I can change the photo that displays when I share my website URL. For example, this is the photo that displays along with my website when I am sending someone a link to view my site:

    http://icreativedesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Screen-Shot-2013-04-01-at-7.50.03-PM.png

I do not want this photo to display with my site. I would love to see my site logo or another image display in space of what is currently there.

    Any suggestions?

So, when you paste the URL into the share box on Facebook, they look for images on that particular page on your site. Just below the image you linked to, there should have been an arrow that would allow you to choose which one to associate with it.

Facebook can't "grab" images that are in flash. This blog post here talks about how to more or less set a "default" image: http://www.capstrat.com/insights/blog/facebook-share-thumbnail-image/

I've read the link (thanks for sharing).
I have the Yoast SEO plugin and within the plugin includes a facebook open graph page. A few days ago I filled in the information (see photo!)

    photo: (http://icreativedesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Screen-Shot-2013-04-03-at-8.44.23-PM.png)

and used this URL for the image:

    https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/179725_541733085860683_2142120178_n.jpg

However, I noticed that this is definitely not the photo that displays when I share my site. I've tried the thumbnail thing as well and it gave me only 2 other options, nothing I would even remotely want as the displaying photo... Strange...
