Support » Plugin: WordPress Related Posts » How to change thumbnail dimension

    Hello, I installed the current version of the plug-in and use a theme that has images in 16:9 ratio with so different from the standard.
    I find the images in “related posts” distorted therefore unusable.
    It’s possible, as was done for the theme, change the size of the images to match those charged by me and to avoid distortions?
    Because the plug-in does not make a crop?
    If it is possible to vary the size of the box image at each update of the what happens?

    Thank you for your help.

    This is the problem:

    Images generate are:
    2013.07.08_Prod_Opel-Monza_Ext-150×73.jpg (WP default)
    2013.07.08_Prod_Opel-Monza_Ext-300×147.jpg (WP default)
    2013.07.08_Prod_Opel-Monza_Ext-600×295.jpg (WP default)
    2013.07.08_Prod_Opel-Monza_Ext-630×310.jpg (single page-max width)

    * Add custom image sizes
    * /
    add_image_size (‘wt-small-thumb’, 75, 37, true); / / featured category / sidebar widget thumbnails
    add_image_size (‘wt-slider-thumb’, 110, 54) / / slider thumbnails
    add_image_size (‘wt-archive-thumb’, 180, 89, true); / / archive thumbnails
    add_image_size (‘wt-feat-thumb’, 290, 143, true); / / featured category main image
    add_image_size (‘wt-slider-image’, 630, 310), / / featured image slider

  • Hey, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!

    Fortunately, we are aware of this issue and are already working on a fix! We certainly hope this will happen sooner than later, but in any case, we would kindly ask you to bear with us!

    But if you wish to fix those thumbnails immediately, then I’d suggest you to install our other related posts plugin called ‘Related Posts’, which is basically identical to the one you are already using, it’s just using a different thumbnailer (the one responsible for extracting thumbnails from your images). Here’s the link:

    And do let me know if you have any more questions or if there’s anything else that I can help you with, since I’ll do it gladly! Take care & have a nice day!

    Even with the given version gives me the same problem and it does not find any settings customization in backoffice so I think even worse than what I was using.

    I removed the plug-in is the old one that the last mentioned but I keep seeing in every article i “related posts”. How can I remove them?

    Hey, sorry for my late, late response, won’t happen again!

    Please correct me if I’m mistaken, but you did install that other plugin I’ve mentioned before and all you got was that widget in your create-new-post page, right? So you switched back to this one, right?

    But I cannot quite understand what do you mean with that “related posts” you’re seeing everywhere — any chance you could clear this up? Maybe send me a screenshot, so that I could have a closer look?

    I’m sure this can be sorted, so please do let me know what’s up & I’ll do my best to help you out!

    As for those “squeeshed” thumbnails — we are aware of the situation and are slowly (but surely!) working on fixing it!

    Looking forward to your reply! Take care & have a nice day!

    It just so happens that after removing both versions of the plug-in in the articles I still see the “related posts” but without the active plug-in had to disappear, right?
    At the moment I prefer to remove everything you see distorted images, the plug-in you suggested is worse than the previous because it allows me to choose which items (my site) I want to add.

    Hey, thanks for your feedback, although I have to admit I’m a bit in the dark right now — I sincerely don’t know which plugin you have installed initially and which was the second one.

    If I understood you right, then you have now un-installed one of our plugins (‘WordPress Related Posts’ / ‘Related Posts’)? Which one is currently activated?

    Also — is there a chance you could send us your WP Dashboard’s credentials, so that we could investigate further? We can completely understand if you’re not comfortable with sharing this with us, but I’m afraid this might be the only viable solution for us right now, since we cannot access those squeeshed thumbnails in any other way. It goes without saying that your privacy is our biggest concern, which is why will take all the necessary security steps.

    Let us know what you think and we’ll do our best to help you out! I’m looking forward to your reply!

    Take care & have a nice day!
