How to change thickbox overlay styling in NextGen Gallery? (4 posts)

    So, I read previous posts here and edited thickbox.css on my server. Here's my edit:
    .TB_overlayBG {
    background-color:#E3EDF4; /*I changed this from black*/
    filter:alpha(opacity=90);/*I changed this from 75*/
    -moz-opacity: 0.75;
    opacity: 0.75;
    It just doesn't make any difference to how the gallery appears. And yes, I do have the thickbox effect activated on my gallery options page. Later I'd like to change the font of the thickbox gallery, but that seems hopeless if I can't even change the overlay color.

    Any suggestions? Thanks! My gallery page is here.

    If you update the thickbox.css directly, changes will be overwritten when you update WordPress. Replicate the classes in your custom stylesheet and make them more specific.

    To change only the overlay color to your light blue (may want to make darker with the transparency), place the following in your theme's custom CSS:

    #TB_overlay.TB_overlayBG {

    And that's it! No need to include the other parameters if they stay the same. Looks like you already changed the font...?

    I looked at the JS file and saw that the overlayBG class is appended to the overlay id meaning the code is <div id="TB_overlay" class="TB_overlayBG">

    See my response to this thread for more detail/examples:

    I installed the Auto Thickbox Plus plugin.
    Then I turned off the setting in NextGEN - Options - Effects to "custom", and it appears to be working beautifully now: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/auto-thickbox-plus/installation/
